Notes:
------

PAF Shahbaz (aka Jacobabad). A Joint Civil and Military Air base in Pakistan located between Sindh and NWFP (North Western Frontier) Provinces.

The US was granted permission by the Pakistan Military to locate at this base for support in the Afghanistan campaign "Enduring Freedom" (one of three that were allowed).

By Mid-October 2001 reports indicate seven US C-130 cargo/troop carrying aircraft at Jacobabad, helicopters [possibly including gunships] and approx 200 U.S. commandos. About 250 Marines are stationed here for search-and-rescue missions. In November 2001 hundreds of US Army soldiers were housed in 42 aircraft hangars.

Jacobabad is an FOB (Forward Operational Base), meaning that it is Active during peacetime but becomes Fully functional during War-time.

This version is Based on Military Data Source and Satellite Imagery.
